T5/T6 super low profile, full length, side lifting elevating roof, offering over 3 metres of internal roof height down the loading area of the van, and a bed platform 183 cm x 119 cm

The T5/T6 SWB roof we manufacture is super low, side lifting and full length, giving you a light and airy space with over 2.5 metres of head height down the length of the loading area of the van. It also offers the option of a 183cm x 119cm bed platform which can be folded away during the day. You can then place your conversion in any position within the van and not feel cramped or claustrophobic.

Top features

  • Adds just under 70mm to the top of your van, and provides a 183cm x 119cm bed with 120cm of head height, from the bed platform, all the way through the sleeping area.
  • Choice of 18 canopy colours included in the price, in marine grade Odyssey fabric, with further colour options for the PVC canopy top
  • Plus optional extra of thicker Sauleda canopy fabric available in a choice of 50 colours
  • Headlining available in a choice of 9 colours in a marine grade vinyl (optional extra)
  • Canopy comes with two PVC arched windows with zipped flaps, and 2 high level velcro vents
  • Can be purchased as a stand alone item or with our separate bed platform (which is 183cm x 119cm), and 2.5cm bed foam.
  • Bed foam and bedding can be stored in the roof when it is closed
  • Fibreglass shell can be colour coded to any colour of your choice
  • Roof rack system (to carry surfboards for example) can be supplied as an extra. The roof will carry most aftermarket or VW roof racks.
  • All hinges, clamps, lock-out bars, nuts and bolts are 316 marine grade stainless steel
  • External modern gas struts make the roof easy to raise and lower and are set on the outside of the canopy to prevent any possible leaks.
  • Available as a DIY kit, or can be fitted by ourselves or at any good garage (see our fitters list here for garages who have previously fitted our roofs)

Will this fit my van?

T5 Pop Tops / T6 Pop Top roofs will fit any SWB or LWB tin top van and Left Hand Drive or Right Hand Drive vans.

Placing an order

We ask for a £500 deposit to begin production of your roof and the balance is due when the roof is ready to collect or to be delivered or shipped.

We can take payment over the phone with a debit card, but we do not take credit cards. Alternatively you can pay through bank transfer.

DIY kit

The roof comes as a kit which would take a practical DIYer 3 days to fit.  

If you are having it supplied as a kit, it comes fully assembled, with headlining, gas struts, hinges, handles, seals, locking straps, and canopy already fitted. We supply everything down to nuts, bolts, pop rivets, etc. The only thing you should need to buy is a tube of silicone sealant.

The kit also comes with comprehensive fitting instructions, and Pete at the end of the phone if you have any queries.

Simon, our man with a van, can deliver a roof to you anywhere in the UK for £1.65 per mile plus vat (so if you live 100 miles away, the cost is £165 plus vat).

fitting option

For fitting - we can either do this for you, or we can suggest a number of fitters in the UK and abroad. Any good garage should be able to do this for you too. We supply comprehensive fitting instructions, with Pete at the end of the phone if you have any queries.

For fitting in our workshop, we ask to have your van for a week and customers usually bring their van down on a Friday or Saturday and collect the following Friday or Saturday. framework & strengthening

We supply two folded steel, powder coated, longitudinal members that run down both sides of the cut hole, adding strength and supporting the bed boards. This roof does not require us to cut into the cab area, and we do not remove the front factory fitted cross member. Thus the cab area does not need additional strengthening.

Measurements

The hinges and framework lift the side of the roof so you are left with over 8 ft of headspace along the loading length of the van. Once the roof is fitted to your van, it adds approx 6 cm to the height of your van.
